Principal Thompson Back From Iraq
For a little over a year, Middle School Principal Terry Thompson has been serving our country in Iraq as a Chaplain's Assistant in the National Guard. This was his second tour in Iraq and his third deployment overall. On behalf of our students, parents, and staff we would like to say, "Welcome Home Mr. Thompson! Job Well done!"
Boys 3rd, Girls 4th in State
JCA's varsity basketball teams participated in the NCCAA State Basketball Tournament this past weekend at Gramercy Christian School. After winning their first round matches, both teams faced off against the #1 seed in their bracket. The boys played Calvary close and found themselves down only 3 with a little over a minute to play. An injury to Jacob Haggard (ankle) and an inability to stop the Eagles from scoring down the stretch doomed the Conquerors, however, and sent them to the 3rd place game against Riverside. Playing without three starters for much of the game, JCA still managed to take the lead at the end of the first quarter and held it throughout the game to win 66-62. The girls lost a close game to Coastal in the semi-finals and then fell to Bethel to finish 4th. Matthew Morton and Brianna Jackson were named to the All-Tournament team. Andrew and Brianna Jackson were named 2nd team All-Conference.
