High School Schedule 2005-2006

High School Schedule 2005-2006

The high school uses an entirely classroom based instruction (ABeka, Bob Jones, etc) . This represents continuing progress as we transitioned from the ACE (pace) system that we used in years past. All core classes will be taught using the traditional, teacher-directed format. Only a few electives will be taught using paces. We believe that we are now able to provide a much better education for our students as a result of this change, and our annual test scores reflect this as well.

There are two levels of achievement that a student may receive upon graduation from JCA. A "General" diploma is given for meeting the minimum requirements set by the state of North Carolina. Nearly all students at JCA graduate with a "College Preperatory" diploma. To receive this a student must earn more credits in the core curriculum areas, successfully pass higher level subjects (such as Chemistry, Algebra II, etc) and complete two years of a foreign language.
