Bible- Bible time includes the Pledge to the Flag, a patriotic song, Bible hymns and choruses, memory verses, prayer time, doctrinal drill, and the Bible lesson its self.

Reading- Fourth grade students read as a class once each day. In addition to books containing a variety of stories, students will use Adventures in Other Lands and Read and Think4 Skill Sheets, books designed to increase their speed and comprehension.

Language- Fourth grade students use Language A as they continue to study English. Students master subjects and predicates, recognize and use all eight parts of speech and expand their diagramming skills. They also add to their knowledge of capitalization, punctuation, forming plurals, etc.

Spelling and Poetry- Spelling, Vocabulary, Poetry4 provides students with a new list of spelling words and vocabulary words and definitions to learn each week .

Penmanship- Penmanship is taught for 15 minutes each day.

Science- Students study Understanding God’s World daily for 30 minutes during the first 27 weeks of the school year. Fourth grade students study insects, plants, birds, matter, energy, geology, oceanography, and astronomy.

Health- Developing Good Health is taught for 30 minutes each day during the last 9 weeks of the school year. Students learn about their bones, muscles, respiratory system, teeth, skin, etc.

History- The History of Our United States is studied for 30 minutes each day throughout the year. It includes an overview of our country’s history from the early explorations of the New World to the present, as well as many geography and map study skills. Key documents in our country’s history and facts about our states, capitals, and presidents are memorized.



Supply List:      King James Bible (must be left at school), #2 pencils (may use mechanical), colored pencils, blue and red ink pens, crayons (24 pack), water color paints, scissors, ruler (in. and cm.), glue stick, Elmers's glue, large pink eraser, pencil box, pocket folder (with brads), box of tissue, steno pad, loose leaf paper (2 reams), 2 spiral notebooks, index cards (3" x 5")
